WHAT IS URHERE?

This 36-hour fundraising event is designed to bring our entire Spider community — alumni, students, faculty, staff, families, and friends — together in support of the University and its students.

URHere starts at 12:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 27, and runs through 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 28. This event runs for 36 hours to ensure Spiders in every time zone have a chance to participate.

DOES RICHMOND REALLY NEED MY GIFT?

Yes! In this video, President Crutcher discusses why Richmond needs your support now more than ever. Like all universities, Richmond is facing financial pressure from COVID-19. And our students will need more help. The need for financial aid will increase dramatically as students and families absorb the economic effects of the pandemic.

WHY IS OUR GIVING DAY NAMED URHERE?

Because when you give to Richmond, no matter where you are, URHere — standing shoulder to shoulder with our students and their professors and coaches as they pursue knowledge, growth, community, and lives of purpose.

WHY SHOULD I MAKE A GIFT DURING URHERE?

To support areas of school life that you are meaningful to you.
To amplify your impact by taking advantage of matches and challenges. Check out our Challenges page for more information. One gift may be matched AND count toward multiple challenges!
To make a difference for today’s students and for generations of Spiders to come.
To have fun, show your Spider Pride, and encourage fellow Spiders to give back!

WHAT WILL MY GIFT SUPPORT?

Whatever you’re most passionate about! Give to one fund, or spread your gift across multiple areas. You can select from more than 140 funds listed on our URHere site to direct your gift.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Make Your Gift May 27-28:

Give online at urhere.richmond.edu.
New this year! Make your gift on Venmo. Our handle is @SpiderGiving. In the Comment section, be sure to include your name, class year (if you’re an alum), and the fund you want to support. We will add your name to our URHere online donor honor roll!
Call us at (804) 289-8050 during normal business hours and make your gift by phone.
Ask for the giving link if you receive a text from campus on Giving Day.

SHOULD MY SPOUSE AND I MAKE SEPARATE GIFTS?

There is no reason for spouses to make separate gifts. When one spouse makes a gift, we give credit to the other. Not sure if we know you’ve married? Update your record at UROnline.

CAN I BE A UR HERE “CHAMPION” AGAIN?

Unfortunately, the Champion functionality is not available this year. You can still help spread the word and raise money for your favorite area using our social media toolkit.

CAN I GIVE TO A FUND THAT ISN’T LISTED ON URHERE.RICHMOND.EDU?

Yes! Give us a call at (804) 289-8050 or Venmo @SpiderGiving (include the fund you wish you support in the comment) and we will add your gift to the URHere giving total.

WILL I BE LISTED AS A DONOR ON THE URHERE WEBSITE?

Only if you want to be listed. By default, your name will be displayed on our donor honor roll, but the amount you give will not. You can make an anonymous gift by selecting the anonymous option at checkout.

WILL MY GIFT COUNT TOWARD MY REUNION CLASS GIFT?

Yes! Gifts from alumni in class years ending in 0 and 5 will count toward this year’s reunion class gifts. We look forward to celebrating with you all in spring 2021!

IS MY PAYMENT SECURE?

Yes! Gifts through urhere.richmond.edu will be processed using a secure online giving form. Information collected during UR Here Giving Day will be used only by University of Richmond.

WILL I RECEIVE A TAX RECEIPT FOR MY GIFT?

Yes! You will receive a donation receipt for tax purposes.
